Veedersburg - Funeral services for Clifford C. Crane, 73, retired farmer and businessman, and life resident of the Veedersburg community, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth DeAth at Veedersburg where he had made his home the past 10 years. The Rev. Milford Knowles will officiate. Burial will be in Osborn's Prairie Cemetery with the Fishero Funeral Home in charge. The body is at the DeAth residence. Mr. Crane died Sunday (Mar. 11, 1951) at W. Palm Beach, Fla., where he had been spending the winter. Veedersburg - Clifford C. Crane, 73, retired farmer and businessman, life resident of the Veedersburg community, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday (Mar. 11, 1951) at W. Palm Beach, Fla., where he had been spending the winter. Mr. Crane had been playing shuffleboard with friends when he suffered a heart attack and was taken to a nearby hospital where he died a few minutes later. Mr. Crane was born on a farm near Veedersburg Dec. 17, 1878, the son of George and Mary Ludlow Crane. He was married first to Catherine Hancock who preceded him in death. He later was married to Ruby Lee Crane, who also preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, Carlyle and Frederick, both of Veedersburg; a daughter, Genevieve Crane of Lafayette; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He had made his home the past 10 years with Mrs. Elizabeth DeAth and her daughter, Mrs. Marie Coats. The body was shipped Monday from Florida and will arrive Tuesday at Danville and will be taken to the Fishero Funeral Home at Veedersburg. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Veedersburg - Clifford C. Crane, 72, retired farmer and business man, died of heart seizure Sunday night at a West Palm Beach, Fla., hospital. Stricken while playing shuffleboard with friends earlier in the evening, he died a few minutes after being admitted to the hospital. Mr. Crane and Mr. and Mrs. John Berlin, of Attica, had gone to Florida three months ago to spend the winter. Born Dec. 17, 1878, in Veedersburg, Mr. Crane was the son of George and Mary Ludlow Crane. He was twice married. His first wife was Katherine Hancock, who died several years ago. Later he married Ruby Glover, who also preceded him in death. Surviving are two sons, Carlyle Crane and Fredrick Crane, both of Veedersburg; a daughter, Genevieve Crane, of Lafayette; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. For the past 10 years Mr. Crane had made his home with Mrs. Elizabeth Death, and her daughter, Marie. The body was scheduled to leave West Palm Beach Monday. It will be brought to the Fishero Funeral home, pending arrangements for the services.
